Why Advance?

This year, we commit to ADVANCE- in our mission, our learning, and our impact. After a season of restructuring, we are poised to move boldly forward, expanding the reach of the Gospel, building new networks, and empowering our students to pursue their calling. We are Catalyst and we exist to advance God’s Kingdom.

“Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the Gospel.” Philippians 1:12

Reflection

Paul wrote these words from prison.

Chains rattled at his wrists. Walls closed him in. His freedom was gone. And yet… his purpose burned brighter than ever.

It would have been easy for Paul to see his circumstances as a setback or a full stop in his ministry. Instead, he says something remarkable:

“…what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.”

Paul’s imprisonment didn’t stall God’s mission. It became the very stage on which God displayed His power and spread His truth. Soldiers heard the message. Believers grew bolder. The Gospel advanced.

For Catalyst Bible College

As you step into this new season at Catalyst Bible College, you too are coming from a time of disruption and change. Restructuring. Reimagining. New paths opening.

You could look back and see challenges. Or, like Paul, you can look forward and say:

“Everything that has happened has served to ADVANCE the Gospel.”

Your networks expanding to new states, your church involvement, every classroom discussion, each student’s calling, these are all pieces of God’s plan to advance His Kingdom.

Personal Application

Ask yourself today:

  • Where have I felt stuck, limited, or delayed in my journey?
  • Could God be using even those circumstances to advance the Gospel?
  • How might my story inspire courage in others to keep moving forward?

God’s work in you doesn’t stall when life gets hard. Instead, He turns obstacles into opportunities. Your calling, your education, and your future all serve a bigger purpose: to advance the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Prayer

Lord, give me eyes like Paul. Help me see that what feels like a setback may actually be Your setup for something greater. Use my life, my studies, my gifts, and even my challenges to advance Your Gospel. Let Catalyst Bible College be a place where we don’t just move forward, but where we advance for Your glory. Amen.
